Statement
“Punk and all avant-garde art reacts against established art theories and techniques, as well as against the society that produces them.”
Tricia Henry, Punk y arte de vanguardia.
My works emerge from the intersection of diverse influences, most notably the aesthetics of punk rock, the conceptual clarity of pop art, and the clarity of the advertising message.
To create these pieces, I use acrylics, markers, glitter, and transfers of objects—everyday consumer products to which I incorporate clothing brands or corporate logos. I aim for an ironic reinterpretation of established symbols and structures that challenge the status quo.
The selection of iconic musicians like Iggy Pop, the Ramones, Patti Smith, and Debbie Harry, or famous figures from Argentine popular culture, allows me to generate new fictional portraits. I use the visual conventions of fanzines and street art to craft a frieze of parodic close-ups of history and our current times.
